1.Managing Vendor Contact Information in Uplink
To update contact details for a selected vendor, navigate to the Contact 1 module from the main menu. On this screen, users will see an “Add Contact” button in the top-right corner. This allows users to add new contact records as needed. Users can add one contact entry at a time using this option.
Please note: Only vendor-level contacts should be added in this section. Location-level contacts must be entered separately in the designated section.
2.Adding a New Contact
To add a new contact, click the “Add Contact” button 2 in the top-right corner. This will open the Contact Details form.
- All fields marked with an asterisk (*) are mandatory and must be completed before the “Save” button becomes active.
- Contact Name: Enter the full name of the contact person.
- Title: Specify the designation or job title of the contact.
- Usage Type: Select whether the contact is Primary, Secondary, or Backup.
- Contact Type: Choose the type of contact, such as Direct, Corporate, etc.
- Contact Method: Specify how the contact can be reached—Phone, Fax, etc.
- Contact Field: Enter the actual contact details based on the selected method.
If Phone is selected as the contact method, only a phone number can be entered. Email addresses or other formats will not be accepted.
If the contact is SMS-compatible, check the corresponding box to enable SMS communication.
Once all required fields are complete, click “Save” 3 to add the contact. To discard any changes, click “Cancel.” In both cases, the user will be redirected back to the main Contact screen.
3.Editing an Existing Contact
To edit a contact, click the pencil icon 4 next to the relevant entry. The system will display the contact’s details in an editable form. Update the necessary fields and click “Save.”
4.Deleting a Contact
To delete a contact, click the trash icon 5 next to the pencil icon. The selected contact will be permanently removed from the list.
5.Searching for a Contact
If multiple contacts exist, use the search functionality to filter 6 records by Vendor Name, Contact Method, or Usage Type.
